Monthly Wrap Up

The month that was… June 2026

It seems that I’ve been neglecting my blog again. I’ve tried not to disappear completely (Eva @ Novel Deelights gets antsy when I do) but I’m just really struggling for time to dedicate to it. 😳

So, what have I been up to? May was Hay Festival month which was as brilliant as ever, and the weather was glorious. As usual, I crammed in lots of events and bought all the books, but the highlights for me were Fredrik Backman and Matt Haig discussing their novels My Friends and The Midnight Train respectively. I’ve also had a few weekends away in the UK, as well as another work trip to Sweden for a project that I’ve been leading.

My weekends, when I’d typically prepare my blog posts, have been taken up with various activities, including the Nottingham Tennis Open – not something I’ve been to before, but a very enjoyable day. My OH and I also decided to do WSET level 2 – a wine tasting qualification for enthusiasts and industry professionals covering the major grape varieties and where to find them, wine production, and the basics of food / wine pairing. We sat our exam at the end of June, and should get the results back during July! 🤞

So, lots of fun activities, but less time for reading and blogging. I’d like to say the summer looks quieter, but that would be a lie! I will try to blog more regularly though. Probably.
