January always feel like a long month to me, and I’m not sorry to see the back of it. The short days, the cold weather, no holidays in sight… if I could hibernate, I would. January is at least a good month for hiding indoors and curling up with a good book, and to that end I reviewed 10 books during January, of which my favourites were:
You can find my reviews here:
- The Devil Aspect by Craig Russell
- The Murder of Harriet Monckton by Elizabeth Haynes
- The Doll Factory by Elizabeth Macneal
I also posted reviews of:
- The House on Vesper Sands by Paraic O’Donnell
- The Winter of the Witch by Katherine Arden
- Wrecker by Noel O’Reilly
- Tell the Machine Goodnight by Katie Williams
- A Long Night in Paris by Dov Alfon
- Flowers Over the Inferno by Ilaria Tuti
- The Colour of Bee Larkham’s Murder by Sarah J. Harris
And I shared a summary of my blogging during 2018, and highlighted a few of my most anticipated reads of 2019.
TBR Watch
During the last few years, I’ve taken part in some form of backlist challenge. I’ve not joined one this year, but I’m still determined to read through my backlist titles and to reduce my TBR a little (because I’ve never said THAT before!). Here’s how my TBR looks heading into February:
So… I was hoping to have made more of an impact than that, but at least it’s heading in the right direction! 😀
Well done on your 10 books! I only managed 9 in January but I hope to get back to usual even number this month! lol
Thank you, Nicki! 🙂
This looks like a wonderful month, Jo! I loved seeing your favorites for the month because I want to read all three! I have Devil Aspect and am super interested in the other two!
Do it! 😀 I really hope you enjoy The Devil Aspect!
I like your graphs at the end. That’s a good way to keep track of your progress. Yay for 10 books amidst all the rest of life happenings!
Thank you! I do like a funky graph! 😀
