Monthly Wrap Up

The month that was… January 2025

The end of last year was incredibly busy for me, and I’ve enjoyed the relative calm that was January. I’m hoping for more of the same in February, but we’ll see how it goes. I do have a short work trip coming up this month, but aside from that, I’m hoping for another month where I can mostly stay indoors with tea, books, and a blanket.

A few of you may have noticed that I’m trying Bluesky (you can find me at @tinyicklejo.bsky.social). I’ll be honest, I’m struggling with it. It’s been so long since I abandoned Twitter, as it was at the time, and after the initial shock wore off, I found that I’ve not really missed it. So, I will try to share posts and interact, but if I’m not around much – it’s me, not you.

My favourite books this month

I also read / reviewed:

  • The Bone Hunters by Joanne Burn
  • The Queen of Fives by Alex Hay
  • Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne, translated by Louis Mercier
  • The Artist by Lucy Steeds
  • Ink Ribbon Red by Alex Pavesi

Other Blog Posts

I also shared my usual annual wrap up post and some of the books that I’m most excited about from Q1.

My (extremely modest) haul for the month:

Some of you may remember that I used to share a graph on these posts, tracking the number of unread books that I have. As I’m determined to reduce my number of unread books this year, I’m bringing it back!

And that’s my bookish month! I hope you had a good one, and that next month is even better! Happy reading! 🥰

  1. Sounds like a good reading month. I’m on both twitter and blusky but I disappear after sharing post. It’s too much to be everywhere and honestly I don’t want these social Media my primary focus. Wish you a fabulous February.

    1. Thanks, Ani! I’ll let you know. It’s one I’ve had my eye on for a while – now I just need to find the time to read it! x

    1. I’ve had my eye on it for a while now. I loved All the Light We Cannot See, and while Cloud Cuckoo Land sounds very different, it also sounds very me.
