Reading Challenge

20 Books of Summer 2022 – Wrap Up

Hosted by Cathy at 746books, 20 Books of Summer is an annual challenge to read and review 20 books from your TBR.  This year, the challenge ran from 1 June to 1 September.

I’m going to be completely honest here – I didn’t quite manage to complete the challenge in time. As ever, reading 20 books wasn’t an issue (although only three of them were on my original list!), but I was once again caught out on the reviewing side of things. August was particularly challenging, with some time away as well as life in general causing some disruption. I did manage to post 19 of the 20 reviews within the specified time frame, but my final review was posted a day late. So it goes.

Here are the books I read, with links to my reviews:

  1. Booth by Karen Joy Fowler
  2. Ask a Historian by Greg Jenner
  3. Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus
  4. Case Study by Graeme Macrae Burnet
  1. Mother’s Boy by Patrick Gale
  2. Senlin Ascends by Josiah Bancroft
  3. A Narrow Door by Joanne Harris
  4. Pandora by Susan Stokes-Chapman
  1. The Ghost of Ivy Barn by Mark Stay
  2. Blue Hour by Sarah Schmidt
  3. Under the Blue by Oana Aristide
  4. The Perfect World of Miwako Sumida by Clarissa Goenawan
  1. The Method by Juli Zeh (translated by Sally-Ann Spencer)
  2. Mrs March by Virginia Feito
  3. The Ends by James Smythe
  4. The Premonitions Bureau by Sam Knight
  1. Greenwood by Michael Christie
  2. Hide by Kiersten White
  3. The Book of Gothel by Mary McMyne
  4. Hope to Die by Cara Hunter

So there you have it – my 20 Books of Summer. Did you take part in this year’s challenge, and if so, how did you get on? Let me know in the comments!
