Hosted by Cathy at 746books, 20 Books of Summer is an annual challenge to read and review 20 books from your TBR. This year, the challenge ran from 1 June to 1 September.
I’m going to be completely honest here – I didn’t quite manage to complete the challenge in time. As ever, reading 20 books wasn’t an issue (although only three of them were on my original list!), but I was once again caught out on the reviewing side of things. August was particularly challenging, with some time away as well as life in general causing some disruption. I did manage to post 19 of the 20 reviews within the specified time frame, but my final review was posted a day late. So it goes.
Here are the books I read, with links to my reviews:

- Booth by Karen Joy Fowler
- Ask a Historian by Greg Jenner
- Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus
- Case Study by Graeme Macrae Burnet

- Mother’s Boy by Patrick Gale
- Senlin Ascends by Josiah Bancroft
- A Narrow Door by Joanne Harris
- Pandora by Susan Stokes-Chapman

- The Ghost of Ivy Barn by Mark Stay
- Blue Hour by Sarah Schmidt
- Under the Blue by Oana Aristide
- The Perfect World of Miwako Sumida by Clarissa Goenawan

- The Method by Juli Zeh (translated by Sally-Ann Spencer)
- Mrs March by Virginia Feito
- The Ends by James Smythe
- The Premonitions Bureau by Sam Knight

- Greenwood by Michael Christie
- Hide by Kiersten White
- The Book of Gothel by Mary McMyne
- Hope to Die by Cara Hunter
So there you have it – my 20 Books of Summer. Did you take part in this year’s challenge, and if so, how did you get on? Let me know in the comments!

Congratulations Jo! I think the reviewing is always the toughest part of the challenge, and you got there in the end! x
Better late than never, right? 😊
Congratulations! a day later is okay and definitely can be considered a complete challenge.
Congratulations! Well done!
Thank you!
