Monthly Wrap Up

The month that was… April 2021

I’m sure I say something like this every month, but where is this year going?! It doesn’t seem that long ago that I was wrapping up 2020 and settling in for that rough patch of the year known as January. We’re now in May, and I have to say that it’s been nice to be able to see people as restrictions have been relaxed, albeit outdoors with weather that hasn’t quite decided what it’s doing . I’ve also enjoyed visiting the pub (it’s important to support local businesses), even if I’ve had to take my big winter coat for the chilly evenings! The things us Brits will do for a drink or two, eh?

Despite a slow start, it’s felt like quite busy on the blog this month, and I’m hoping that I can keep the momentum going into May. You’ll see that I’m a little behind on my reviews again, but I’m quite enjoying knowing that I have some posts written and ready to go ahead of schedule – it feels like the pressure is off a little, and that’s never a bad thing.

I took part in Dewey’s Readathon in April, and shared my opening survey and wrap up posts on the blog.

These are the books I received for review this month:

And the books I bought:

TBR Watch ⚖

Slow and steady wins the race, right? A reduction of two in my TBR this month, and I’m counting that as a win:

  • Books out = 11 read + 2 DNF* = 13
  • Books in = 4 ARCs + 7 purchases = 11
  • Equals a reduction of 2 in my TBR

*I may come back to some of the DNFs at a later date, but for now they have been removed from my TBR.
