If you’d told me a little over five years ago that I’d set up a blog and keep it running for so long, I’d would have laughed at you. It’s something that I’d thought about doing for a while, although I wasn’t sure I’d ever be any good at it. My first attempts at writing a review extended to all of five lines in which I simply gushed about the book. There’s certainly an art to writing reviews, and it’s something that I (hopefully!) have become better at over time.
When my blog did launch on 28 May 2015, I never had any expectation of it running for so long. Nor did I appreciate quite how much time it would take! 😀 I can’t honestly say that I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, but for the most part, it has been a great experience. I’ve certainly learned a lot over the time, have come across books that I might not have picked up, and have “met” fellow bloggers from all over the globe. And I’m proud of what I’ve created. It’s not the biggest or best blog, but it’s mine and I like it.
Of course, this little old blog wouldn’t be much at all without you, dear readers. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you all, whether you’re a regular visitor or just stop by every now and again. It’s true that book people really are the best people! ❤
As a thank you to those of you who’ve stopped by to see what I think of any given book, who have shared my reviews, who have taken the time to comment on a post, and have generally been a lovely bunch of people, I’m holding a little giveaway. Now, this would normally be a book or two plus some stationery and other little goodies. Given the circumstances, the winner will have to make do with a £25 electronic gift voucher for Waterstones.

Happy blog birthday, Jo! Five years is seriously impressive. I’m glad I’m not the only one who cringes at her early reviews. Mine are so embarrassing, I often think I should just remove them 😄. Anywho, here’s to many, many more years of you blogging awesome reviews! 🥂🥳
Thank you, Eva! I’ve definitely considered just deleting all of my posts from the first two years – who’d know…? 😀
If you delete this comment, no one 😉😂

Well done on reaching 5. It’s quite an achievement – masses of blogs never last longer than a year.
