August was another busy month, but it ended on an extremely pleasant note as I spent the last week soaking up the sun in Lanzarote! 😎 I spent a fair amount of time reading, and I’ll be sharing what I read and my thoughts on those books shortly – quite possibly through a series of mini reviews – we’ll see how it goes!
So what happened on Jo’s Book Blog in August? I posted ten reviews in total before I left Blighty for sunnier climes (which seems like quite good going for me!). The standout novels of these were:
I also reviewed:
- The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver
- The Light Between Us by Katie Khan
- Vengeful by V. E. Schwab
- Do Not Feed the Bear by Rachel Elliott
- Haverscroft by S. A. Harris
And I took part in two blog tours:
I also took part in Shelf Control (on the 14th and the 21st) highlighting some of the unread books on my shelves.
Twenty Books of Summer finished yesterday, and while I’ve read my twenty books, I haven’t written up all of the review yet. That still counts though, right?!

Despite getting some reading done on my holiday, my number of unread books hasn’t actually reduced at all, thanks to a little splurge at the end of the month! I regret nothing! 😛
But, I am particularly pleased that I only have four unread books that I purchased prior to 2019! I’m hoping to finish these this month, which will be something of a record for me!
Sounds like a great bookish month Jo, and congratulations on completing the challenge!
Thank you, Nicki! Now I just need to catch up on those reviews! 😀
Wow, I’m impressed with your only four books from before 2019!!
Me too! 😀 It’s tough to keep reading the older books, with all the shiny new ones vying for attention…
