Readathon October 2018 – Opening Survey

It’s that time of year where I set aside real life for 24 hours and use Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon as an excuse to read all weekend!  Not that that’s how I spend most of my weekends anyway… 😛

To the opening survey:

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?

Derbyshire, UK.

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

As with previous readathons, I’ve put together a theme for my reading, and this time it’s based around COLOUR.  My planned reading list is:

I’m particularly looking forward to Blood Orange, as I’ve heard so many good things about it, despite it not being released yet!

I do have a couple of back up options as well should any of these not appeal during readathon (I’m very much a mood reader!) or if I finish these earlier than expected.

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?

I love the food planning element of readathon, and I do have some delicious food lined up.  Snack wise, I’m particularly looking forward to some salted popcorn – not particularly adventurous, but I do love the stuff – and some champagne truffles.

4) Tell us a little something about yourself!

I’m Jo, and I’ve been blogging for a little over three years.  I’ve always been an avid reader, and whilst I particularly enjoy post-apocalyptic and dystopian fiction, I try to read a broad range of novels.

I love taking part in Dewey’s readathon – I love the idea of so many like-minded people from around the world making time to read at the same time!

5) If you participated in the last readathon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first readathon, what are you most looking forward to?

I’ve done readathon a few times now, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m incapable of reading for 24 hours – I just like sleep too much! 😀  I’ll try to pace myself and take strategic naps, but I expect that I’ll go to bed in the early hours of the morning (around hour 13 for me) as I normally do.  One of the good things about Dewey’s readathon is that it’s absolutely fine to do this!  You can read as much or as little as you want during the 24-hour period.

    1. Thank you! I read Seeing Red first to help me get off to a good start, and Blood Orange was fantastic!
