We’re half way through the year, and there’s still very little sign of summer. Although I’ve heard there’s a heat wave on the horizon, so it might be a case of “be careful what you wish for”. June has been a busy month and started with Derby Book Festival where I saw Abigail Dean and Bridget Collins discussing their latest novels, Day One and The Silence Factory respectively. Both sounds excellent, and I can’t wait to get stuck in. A weekend away followed by a holiday in Italy rounded off the month.
All of which means that I’ve not done as much reading or blogging as I’d hoped, although I’ve no complaints – it has been a good month. I am going to have to pick up the pace to have any chance of completing 20 Books of Summer though.
Read in May, reviewed in June:
- Speak of the Devil by Rose Wilding
Read in June:
- The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
- Close to Death by Anthony Horowitz
- The Stranding by Kate Sawyer
- Arsene Lupin 813 by Maurice Leblanc (the translator sadly unacknowledged in my copy)
- West Heart Kill by Dann McDorman
- Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell
- No. 23 Burlington Square by Jenni Keer

And that’s my bookish month! I hope you had a good one, and that next month is even better! Happy reading! 🥰

Italy? So jealous! Whereabouts did you spend your holiday? Let me live vicariously through you, Jo. 😄
😀 Sorrento, which is very beautiful. Had a mix of relaxed days with a few days trips – Capri, Positano, Pompeii and Herculaneum – thrown in
Sounds like a lovely month Jo, especially your holiday in Italy! xx
Thanks, Nicki – no complaints here! 😁
What a great month, I love Italy! I’m now investigating some of the books you’ve purchased hehe
😁 Always happy to be a bad influence!
