After a busy few months, June felt a little calmer. I started the month at the Hay Festival where I bought all the books, but since then, I’ve been at home and have taken advantage of the lovely weather to go walking, obviously making sure to stop off at the occasional pub along the way in order to stay hydrated. 😏 I also went alpaca trekking again at a nearby farm, and the black alpaca, Leon, in this photo was my walking buddy 😍
I read nine books this month, and have been much better at keeping on top of my reviews – it seems that all I needed to rediscover my blogging mojo was a challenge to take part in! I am now determined to complete this year’s 20 Books of Summer, and eight of the nine books read this month will count towards the challenge (I didn’t get around to reviewing Old Babes in the Wood) and I’ve reviewed seven of them already! 💪

Books Acquired
After last month’s creative accounting, here is the rest of my Hay Festival haul. Some of these were from the events I attended, others were ones that I spied in the festival bookshop, while others came from the (many) bookshops of Hay:
You might think that I’d show some restraint after all that, but no – I went on and bought more books throughout the rest of the month as well! I could make excuses for all of these, but to be honest, I have no regrets!

TBR Watch
In two months, I’ve undone all of the hard work in reducing my TBR this year! 😂
- Books out = 9 read + 1 DNF* = 10
- Books in = 7 purchases + 12 from Hay = 19 😬
- Gives an increase of 9 in my TBR!
*I may come back to the DNF at a later date, but for now it has been removed from my TBR.

Looks like you had great month both in reading and buying books. I haven’t bought so many books together ever. Max I bought was 10 and that too has been long time. I hope enjoy all of them. Wish you amazing July.
It doesn’t happen often for me, but I always want the books after hearing the authors talk about them at Hay. Hope you have a great month!
Looks and sounds like a fab bookish month Jo! Alpaca trekking sounds really fun! x
Thank you, Nicki! I do recommend it if you get the chance – they’re just so lovely x
Love seeing all this restraint go right out the window! 🤣
😬 It’s so easy to get carried away in Hay! Now to find the time to read them…
