This month has been great on a personal note, although not so great from a blogging perspective. On the positive side of things, I had a week’s break in France, and while it was bookended by rather a lot of driving (by my partner, rather than me!) it was so nice to get away for a few days. The forecast before we went wasn’t great, but we were lucky with the weather – it was chilly at times but a lot drier than I was expecting! And it was nice to get outdoors again – it’s something that I’ve missed over the winter months. And of course, there was wine and cheese aplenty. C’est merveilleux!
I have been a little slack at blogging again this month. It feels that as soon as I build up any sort of momentum then life decides to rudely interrupt once more. I managed five reviews this month and, to be honest, I’m not sure that I’ll catch up on the backlog. From a reading perspective it’s been a good month. I read nine books, including a few titles that I’ve been itching to get to from my backlist.
Books Read and Reviewed
- Read in February, reviewed in March:
- The Other Side of Night by Adam Hamdy
- A Sliver of Darkness by C. J. Tudor
- Read in March:
- The House of Fortune by Jessie Burton
- Notes on an Execution by Danya Kukafka
- She’s in CTRL by Anne-Marie Imafidon
- The Twist of a Knife by Anthony Horowitz
- I Will Find You by Harlan Coben
- The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller
- Small Angels by Lauren Owen
- Idol by Louise O’Neill
- A Tidy Ending by Joanna Cannon
Books Acquired
I received one title for review this month that jumped straight to the top of the pile:
And I purchased (an extremely modest!) five titles:
TBR Watch
I’m quite pleased with this.
- Books out = 9 read + 1 DNF* = 10
- Books in = 1 ARC + 5 purchases = 6
- Gives a reduction of 4 in my TBR!
*I may come back to the DNF at a later date, but for now it has been removed from my TBR.

Sounds like a wonderful month Jo, especially with that trip to France! x
