This Week in Books is a feature hosted by Lipsy at Lipsyy Lost and Found that allows bloggers to share:
- What they’ve recently finished reading
- What they are currently reading
- What they are planning to read next
A similar meme is run by Taking on a World of Words.
The last book I finished reading was I Will Find You by Harlan Coben.
David and Cheryl Burroughs are living the dream – married, a beautiful house in the suburbs, a three year old son named Matthew – when tragedy strikes one night in the worst possible way.
David awakes to find himself covered in blood, but not his own – his son’s. And while he knows he did not murder his son, the overwhelming evidence against him puts him behind bars indefinitely.
Five years into his imprisonment, Cheryl’s sister arrives – and drops a bombshell.
She’s come with a photograph that a friend took on vacation at a theme park. The boy in the background seems familiar – and even though David realizes it can’t be, he knows it is.
It’s Matthew, and he’s still alive.
David plans a harrowing escape from prison, determined to do what seems impossible – save his son, clear his own name, and discover the real story of what happened that devastating night.
I’m currently reading this month’s book club choice – The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller.
A PAGE-TURNING SUMMERTIME READ FOR FANS OF WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING AND LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE
On a perfect August morning, Elle Bishop heads out for a swim in the pond below ‘The Paper Palace’ – her family’s holiday home in Cape Cod. As she dives beneath the water she relives the passionate encounter she had the night before, against the side of the house that knows all her darkest secrets, while her husband and mother chatted to their guests inside…
So begins a story that unfolds over twenty-four hours and fifty years, as Elle’s shocking betrayal leads her to a life-changing decision.
As ever, I’m not sure what I’ll read next, and as I’m about to go away for a few days, it will be very much whatever I’m in the mood for at the time. It might be A Tidy Ending by Joanna Cannon, but I make no promises!
MEET LINDA.
Linda lives a nice, normal life, on a nice, normal street with Terry, her perfectly ordinary husband.
Linda’s not like everyone else, she keeps herself to herself. But she’s good at solving puzzles and there are times she sees things other people might have overlooked.
Because nothing on Cavendish Avenue is quite as it seems. People have started to go missing in the neighbourhood and Linda will soon discover that some secrets can’t stay buried forever…
And that’s my week in books! What are you reading this week? Let me know in the comments! 😎

I have Harlan coming up soon. Need to clean up some pesky ARCs first 😂.
Have a lovely break, Jo! xx
It jumped the queue for me as I was sent a copy!
Thank you! x
I still haven’t read a Harlan Coben. Have a lovely break Jo and enjoy whatever you read. x
I think I’ve only read two, but I’ve enjoyed them both!
Thanks so much, Nicki x
