Monthly Wrap Up

The month that was… August 2022

August has been a busy month, and I’ve absolutely no idea where it’s gone. I can’t complain too much, however – I spent a long weekend near Bristol for a music festival and then had a week’s holiday in Majorca. The latter wasn’t quite as peaceful as it should have been given the presence of 4 children aged 8 to 13 (none of them mine) who seemed determined to fall out at least once a day, but it was nice to get away from everything for a little while.

I read ten books this month, not that you’d know it from the lack of blogging that’s occurred. Life got in the way at the beginning of the month, followed by those two breaks, so it’s been a case of trying to fit blogging in when I’ve had the time, and I’m now playing catch up. I’m hoping that the next couple of months will be a little calmer, although I do have another weekend away planned for September, so we’ll see what happens!

It does also mean that I’ve struggled with completing #20BooksOfSummer this year. As always, reading 20 books wasn’t an issue, but getting the reviews out on time has proved challenging and my final review was posted a little later than intended.

Favourite Reads This Month

Incoming!

I received three books for review this month:

And acquired eight:

TBR Watch

It could have been worse, right…?

  • Books out = 10 read + 1 DNF* = 11
  • Books in = 3 ARCs + 8 purchases = 11
  • Means no change in my TBR this month

*I may come back to some of the DNFs at a later date, but for now they have been removed from my TBR.

  1. 10 is good number. I struggled with reading for 20 books challenge as I hardly had time and some or other things kept happening that affected my reading. I hope you have great September.
