Another month down, and it’s one that I think is best summed up by “feeling hot hot hot”. I hope you all managed to keep relatively cool wherever you are. I’ve had a fairly uneventful month, and the highlight was a long weekend of camping in Northumberland. It was just before the heatwave struck, and so while the temperature was starting to get uncomfortable in the southern parts of the UK, it was a little more comfortable further north. Tents get very warm very quickly, however, and so it wasn’t entirely pleasant to hang around the campsite. Luckily, there were a number of pubs close by which allowed my OH and I to stay hydrated! 😉
I read ten books this month and, despite my long weekend away, I’ve done a little better at posting more regularly. Not wanting to jinx it, but I’m also doing ok with #20BooksOfSummer having read 15 books that I’ll count towards the challenge so far. I did hit a bit of a reading slump though, and started a few books that just didn’t grab me. I may come back to them at some point…

Incoming!
I received one book for review this month, and it’s one that I’m really looking forward to reading having loved the author’s previous novels:
And acquired seven:
TBR Watch
If there’s any silver lining here, it’s that my mini reading slump has at least done some damage to my TBR:
- Books out = 10 read + 5 DNF* = 15
- Books in = 1 ARCs + 7 purchases = 8
- Equals a decrease of 7 in my TBR
*I may come back to some of the DNFs at a later date, but for now they have been removed from my TBR.

It looks and sounds like a fab bookish month Jo! x
Thank you, Nicki! No complaints here 😀
You’re making good progress on your summer reading project. I’ll count it as a success if I manage to read 10 from my list. Like you I keep starting but not finishing books.
The reading isn’t usually a problem, but getting the reviews out on time is. To be honest, if I read 20 but only review e.g. 18 of them, I’ll count it as a win!
I’m having the same problem getting reviews done. I’m way behind.
I hope I can finish the challenge in time. I still need to read 6 books. I hope you have amazing August.
You can do this! 💪
