For a bit of fun, here are my predictions for the 2015 Man Booker Prize long list, which will be announced at midday today.
I think that we’ll see four former winners on the list:
- Margaret Atwood – The Heart Goes Last
- Salman Rushdie – Two Years Eight Months and Twenty-Eight Nights
- Anne Enright – The Green Road
- Kazuo Ishiguro – The Buried Giant
As well as:
- Hanya Yanagihara – A Little Life
- Judith Claire Mitchell – A Reunion of Ghosts
- Benjamin Wood – The Ecliptic
- Jonathan Franzen – Purity
- Ryan Gattis – All Involved
- Sara Taylor – The Shore
- Colm Toibin – Nora Webster
- Anna Small – The Chimes
- Sarah Hall – The Wolf Border
I’ll let you know how I did when the long list has been announced!
You did one better than me though neither of us did particularly well
Indeed! An interesting mix on the list though…
I agree. I a made a pledge not to buy any more books until I cut my tbr pile but may have to break it to see if I can read and review some for the shortlist. are you going to read any?
I’m in a similar position! But I’ll have to pick a few of them up – really intrigued by The Chimes and The Fishermen, and I’ve heard excellent things about A Little Life
Those are the ones I’most interested in too!
Ha ha! Great minds and all that…
